Overview
Velrain are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Drainage Project Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality reports and estimates for drainage surveys, water supply investigations, and subsidence-related claims.
This role requires excellent communication skills, technical understanding and the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation that meets both client expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce clear, concise, and professional reports from site survey information and technical findings.
- Prepare fully costed repair schedules and quotations using appropriate repair methods.
- Ensure reports are easy to understand for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Identify causes of damage to drainage and water supply systems.
- Apply insurance principles to ensure correct policy coverage is considered.
- Ensure all reports comply with client requirements, service level agreements, Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Communicate with policyholders where cover may not apply, explaining findings professionally and clearly.
- Liaise with drainage surveyors, project managers, claims handlers and policyholders throughout the claims process.
- Maintain accurate updates to ensure all parties understand the current status of each claim.
- Complete daily report allocations within agreed timescales.
Core Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using MS Office drawing tools or similar software to produce simple site sketches and layouts.
- Ability to manage relationships with clients, contractors and policyholders professionally.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively within deadlines.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience within the drainage, water supply, or insurance claims industry.
- Industry qualifications such as OS20X or OS19X.
- Knowledge of Environment Agency regulations relating to off-mains drainage systems.
