We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Musical Theatre Instructor / Supervisor to lead a weekly after-school Musical Theatre Club at a primary school in Taunton. This role provides children with the opportunity to explore singing, acting, and movement while developing confidence, creativity, teamwork, and performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.
The club runs Thursdays, 3:30pm – 4:30pm (1 hour per week) during term time, commencing from September 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise small groups of primary-aged children in musical theatre activities.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate sessions that combine singing, acting, movement, and simple choreography.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, confidence, and teamwork through performance-based activities.
- Support children in developing communication skills and stage confidence in a positive and inclusive environment.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children’s participation and progress.
- Ensure the activity space and any equipment are safe, organised, and ready for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching musical theatre, drama, dance, singing, or performing arts to children in schools, clubs, or similar settings.
- Ability to inspire and engage young learners in a structured yet enjoyable environment.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A background in performing arts, theatre, music, dance, or education is desirable.
