About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of an established UK passive fire protection specialist looking to hire a senior remote Fire Safety Technical Specialist. This is a full-time, fully remote role reporting to the UK Head of Technical, supporting the technical compliance and documentation function across multiple live projects.
This is a senior technical role for someone with strong fire safety engineering experience who is comfortable working with passive fire protection systems, fire door compliance, compartmentation, FRA/FRAEW reports, and technical specifications. You will support the UK senior team with desk-based technical work, freeing them up for site delivery and client interface.
What You'll Own
- Technical review and drafting of fire safety specifications, scopes of work, and remedial strategies
- Preparation and quality control of O&M manuals, handover packs, and certification documentation
- Compilation and formatting of fire door, compartmentation, FRA, and FRAEW reports
- Technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD or Revit
- Documentation systems and certification tracking
- Quality assurance against UK fire safety standards and regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Support the UK Head of Technical with desk-based technical review work
- Compile and quality-check O&M manuals and handover documentation
- Prepare and format fire safety reports (fire doors, compartmentation, FRAEW, FRA support)
- Draft technical specifications and scopes of work
- Maintain certification tracking and compliance documentation
- Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD or Revit as required
- Work closely with the UK team to ensure technical consistency across projects
- Apply UK fire safety codes and standards (BS 9999, BS 476-22, Approved Document B, Building Safety Act 2022) — UK-specific training provided on the job
Required (Non-Negotiable)
- 5+ years experience in fire safety, fire engineering, fire protection design, or passive fire protection
- Strong knowledge of passive fire protection principles (fire doors, compartmentation, fire stopping)
- Experience preparing technical fire safety reports, specifications, or compliance documentation
- AutoCAD or Revit proficiency for technical drawings
- Strong written and spoken English
- Available to work full-time during UK business hours, Monday to Friday (approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), including a one-hour unpaid meal break
- Reliable home office setup with high-speed internet

Preferred / Bonus
- PRC-licensed Fire Protection Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Civil Engineer with fire safety specialisation
- NFPA codes knowledge (NFPA 80, NFPA 101)
- Knowledge of Philippine Fire Code 2019
- Prior experience with UK, US, or Australian fire safety standards
- FRA / FRAEW report preparation experience
- O&M manual and handover documentation experience
- Construction or specialist contracting industry background
