Kick-start your career in finance with an exciting opportunity to earn, learn and gain a recognised finance qualification (AAT - Association of Accounting Technicians) while working within a national healthcare organisation.
As a Finance Apprentice, you'll support the Finance Team in delivering accurate and efficient financial services while gaining hands-on experience across accounts payable, payroll administration, reconciliations, financial reporting and finance systems.
With dedicated study time, structured training and support from experienced colleagues, you'll develop valuable practical skills and build a strong foundation for a successful career in finance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the accounts payable process, including processing supplier invoices, payments and maintaining supplier records
- Assist with payroll administration, employee data updates and payroll-related queries
- Complete petty cash, credit card and other financial reconciliations under supervision
- Prepare journals and maintain accurate financial records using finance systems
- Monitor finance inboxes and help resolve routine queries from suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Support month-end and year-end finance activities, including reporting and financial administration
- Assist with data analysis, record keeping and ensuring the accuracy of financial information
- Work with budget holders and finance colleagues to provide financial administration support
- Participate fully in your apprenticeship programme and apply your learning in the workplace
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with financial policies, procedures and organisational standards
What We're Looking For
Essential Criteria
- GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance and accounting
- Eligibility and willingness to undertake a Finance Apprenticeship qualification
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable Criteria
- A Levels, BTEC, T Level or equivalent qualification
- Previous work experience, volunteering, placement or part-time employment
- Experience in an office, administrative or customer service environment
- Experience using spreadsheets or financial systems
- Evidence of commitment to personal and professional development
