Your Next Role
We are seeking to recruit an Executive Assistant within the Cabinet Office.
Key elements of this role are:
- Provide proactive, high-quality executive support to the Leader
- Manage complex diary, inbox, and competing priorities effectively
- Draft and review correspondence, ensuring accuracy and professionalism
- Triage and respond to sensitive or high-priority communications
- Prepare briefings and coordinate comprehensive meeting packs
- Organise and support meetings, including agendas, logistics, and follow-ups
- Manage stakeholder engagements and civic commitments
- Maintain accurate records of decisions, actions, and correspondence
- Support Cabinet processes, including papers, briefings, and action tracking
- Build strong working relationships with senior officers, Members, and stakeholders
- Exercise sound judgement in prioritisation and handling sensitive matters
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and ways of working
The successful applicant will bring strong experience in executive or senior administrative support, with a solid understanding of office management, diary coordination, and handling complex correspondence. They will have knowledge of local government or similar organisational structures and decision-making processes, alongside the ability to produce high-quality written materials and briefings. Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as well as the confidence to exercise judgement when managing priorities and sensitive information.
The role requires a proactive, professional individual with strong IT skills (including Microsoft Office) and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
