Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. A passion for upselling and promoting products will be advantageous.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with their purchases.
Process transactions accurately using the cash register or point-of-sale system.
Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments while ensuring all financial transactions are secure.
Upsell products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
Maintain a clean and organised checkout area, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies.
Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the store.
Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling and customer service standards.

Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential; bilingual or multilingual candidates are highly desirable.
Basic maths skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
Strong organisational skills to maintain an orderly workspace.
Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette when interacting with customers.
Ability to manage time efficiently in a busy retail environment.
Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
