Electrical testing engineer

Location: Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire & surrounding Home Counties areas
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive salary + company van + benefits

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Electrical testing engineer to join our growing business and take a lead part in testing & remedials within our commercial maintenance contracts & domestic settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong, experienced tester who has developed a range of skills including problem solving, adaptability and is self-motivated with the ability of self-management and the choice to take the extra responsibility of being a QS.

This role will suit someone who is more than just a good electrician — we are looking for someone who has been around the block, experienced, highly knowledgeable and maybe considering part time / full time testing – the role can be moulded to the right candidate.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Taking responsibility for the testing, certification & remedials.

· Dealing with clients directly with support from our admin team.

· Teaching your skills to an apprentice

· Keeping up to date with current regulations and staying ahead of changes

· Hybrid role – FT position – 1 day WFH to complete test sheets & verify

· Working with NICEIC software

What We’re Looking For

· A qualified Approved Electrician with relevant electrical qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

· 18th Edition (BS7671).

· Proven experience in testing is essential

· Strong communication and organisational skills.

· Full UK driving license.

· 2391 / 2392 Inspection & Testing or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications

· SMSTS / SSSTS / NEBOSH
