Southdown Group is an established property maintenance and renovation company working with landlords, letting agents, and private clients across Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and surrounding areas.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable, hard-working maintenance operative to work with us on a full-time, self-employed basis.
This role suits a contractor who is practical, takes pride in their work, and wants consistent, organised work.
The Role
You’ll be carrying out general maintenance, finishing work, and supporting tasks across a range of domestic properties.
Work is organised, scoped, and managed by our office — no chasing work, quoting customers, or invoicing.
Typical work includes:
- Painting and decorating
- Silicone, sealing, and finishing works
- Basic repairs and adjustments
- Strip-outs and preparation work
- Assisting other trades on site
- Material collection and site organisation
- General property maintenance tasks
What We’re Looking For
- Good practical ability (experience preferred but not essential)
- Hard-working and reliable
- Takes pride in completing jobs properly
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable following a system (job app, updates, photos)
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Own basic tools and PPE
This role does not suit someone who:
- Wants to work casually or inconsistently
- Cuts corners or rushes jobs
- Lacks attention to detail
- Needs constant supervision
Pay & Earnings
- £15–£20 per hour (depending on experience)
- Paid monthly
- Fuel contribution where applicable
