About the Role
We are looking for an FPGA and Embedded Engineer to join the team and take ownership of hardware software co-design across our payload and ground segment systems. You will work on FPGA preprocessing pipelines, AI inference on edge hardware, and signal processing chains bridging the gap between the RF subsystem and the software platform. The work is hands on, technically demanding, and directly shapes what flies or deploys. Recent graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
- Design FPGA logic for signal processing and high-speed data handling (Xilinx UltraScale+/Zynq)
- Write firmware and embedded software in C/C++ for satellite and ground systems
- Build AI inference pipelines on NVIDIA Jetson for real-time image analysis
- Develop image processing pipelines (preprocessing, compression, formatting for downlink)
- Work in Vivado and Vitis for FPGA design and testing
- Use MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm design and automatic code generation
- Connect FPGA and embedded systems to the wider RF chain (ADCs, DDCs, comms)
- Test and debug hardware, and document your work clearly
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar
- some FPGA experience (VHDL or Verilog) on Xilinx hardware
- Embedded C/C++ experience on ARM or RISC processors
- Comfort with image processing or computer vision on small hardware
- Bonus: SDR experience (GNU Radio, USRP, RFSoC) or signal processing knowledge (filters, FFT, modulation), Some experience with edge AI (Jetson, TensorRT, or similar)
Pay: £27,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
