Full job description

Beyond Education is an Ofsted regulated tutoring company in Urmston, Manchester. We tutor children aged 5-18 in English, maths, science, and also for school entrance exams. Children are tutored face-to-face in our centre.

We are looking for someone to join our team who;

has a passion for teaching the secondary maths curriculum
is available to work on Thursdays 4-8pm (other daytime and evening work available for the right candidate).
The position is suitable for any qualified maths teachers including ECTs.

Expected/non negotiable;

Subject to enhanced DBS check
Able to work independently using initiative as well as working as part of a team
GCSEs or equivalent
A levels or equivalent
Qualified teacher status
Subject to references
Available to work at least Thursdays 4-8pm
Able to teach to the maths GCSE exams

Desired/preferred;

DBS check on update service
Flexible
Experience of teaching maths to A level
Experience of teaching key stages 2-5 maths

Successful candidates will;

Teach secondary school pupils in science on both a 1:1 and small group basis
Support colleagues with less experience (e.g. supporting training, guiding, mentoring those who are not qualified teachers)
Plan effectively for their sessions, including those in small groups
Ensure resources are organised and ready to teach before sessions
Liaise with colleagues and parents regarding students' progress
Plan for a teaching assistant to support small group sessions

Contracted hours to suit (working hours negotiable) - mostly evenings
Paid holiday time. Minimum 5.6 weeks.

Resources readily available and provided by Beyond Education
Support with your teaching
As few or as many hours as you wish (regular weekly)
Opportunities for paid overtime
Pay subject to experience and qualifications.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 4-28 per week

Pay: £19.00-£30.00 per hour

Secondary Science & Maths Teachers: 1 year (preferred)
