Job Summary
We are seeking passionate and dedicated tutors specializing in English, Mathematics, and Science to inspire and guide students preparing for the 11+ examinations. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs, foster a positive educational environment, and help students achieve their academic goals. Your expertise will empower young learners to develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and a love for learning across core subjects. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journeys while utilizing your diverse teaching skills.

We are open 3 days a week. Saturday 9am-6:15pm, Tuesday 5:00-9:00pm and Sunday 2:30pm-16:30pm. Shifts are usually booked in 4 hour blocks.

Employees working hours will reflect their availability within our opening hours.

Care and Horizon Ltd is one of the leading private tuition supplementary schools in the UK, offering face-to-face education in 15 different centres in the UK.

We offer students between Years 1 to 13 with a range of private tuition services in English, Mathematics and Science. This includes in-depth classes that cover all topics outlined in the latest National Curriculum, as well as special revision classes tailored to prepare students for their forthcoming exams which include:

11 Plus
GCSEs
A-Levels

Responsibilities

Implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for English, Mathematics, and Science subjects.
Deliver dynamic tutoring sessions that incorporate innovative learning technology and interactive teaching methods.
Assess student progress regularly and adapt instruction to meet individual learning styles and needs.
Teaching students as per lesson plans.
Assessing students’ progress and providing feedback.
Managing attendance and lesson records.
Assisting in the day-to-day administration of the tuition centre.

Experience

Proven experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting, including classroom experience or tutoring roles.
Strong background in teaching core academic subjects such as Math (including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), and English.
Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment techniques tailored to the 11+ examination requirements.
Experience integrating learning technology tools into lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with diverse learner needs is highly desirable.
Prior higher education teaching or adult education experience is a plus but not required. Join us in shaping confident learners ready to excel academically!
