Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Swimming Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching and sports coaching, with the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm in learners of all ages. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead swimming lessons, promote water safety, and contribute to the development of our students’ swimming skills in a professional environment.

Classes run on Saturday from 1:30 - 4:30. And align with the School terms

Duties

Lead and supervise a team of swimming instructors, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality instruction.
Assess students’ progress regularly and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Promote water safety awareness and best practices during all lessons.
Organise lesson schedules, coordinate with other staff members, and maintain accurate records of attendance and progress.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages confidence and enjoyment in water activities.
Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to at all times, including emergency procedures.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry standards and teaching techniques.
Liaising with family members and staff.
Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels.

Requirements

Proven experience in swim teaching.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of instructors.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging learners across different age groups.
Relevant certifications in swimming instruction (e.g., STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher or equivalent).
Relevant certifications in lifeguarding or life-saving (e.g., NPLQ or NRASTAC)
Organised, reliable, and able to work Saturdays.
May be required to bring in swimming equipment, so suitable transport would be preferable (e.g., a car)

Pay: £27.50 per hour
