Job Title: Optical Assistant

Salary: Dependent on Experience (DOE)
Job Type: Permanent Part-time, 3 days a week

Silverthornes Opticians is a well-established independent practice located in the heart of Salisbury. Known for our personal touch and high standard of eye care, we’re proud to serve our local community with professionalism and compassion. As we grow, we're looking to welcome an enthusiastic Optical Assistant to our friendly team.

About the Role:
As our Optical Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming face of the practice – the first person patients see or speak to when they get in touch. You’ll play a key role in delivering a smooth and caring patient experience.

Ideally, you have some experience working in Optics.

Key Responsibilities:

Greeting patients and visitors with a warm, professional manner
Booking and managing appointments via our digital system
Answering phone and email enquiries efficiently
Taking payments and handling till operations
Keeping reception tidy, stocked, and patient-friendly
Updating and maintaining patient records
Pre-screening patients, dispensing
Assisting with frame selection, repairing and adjustment of frames
Collections

What We’re Looking For:

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in optics
Excellent communication and people skills
Confidence using basic computer systems
Organised, dependable, and detail-oriented
Friendly, calm, and professional under pressure

Working Hours:
3 days a week, including some Saturdays
