Job Summary

Embark on an exciting journey with our Bookkeeping Apprenticeship program, designed to develop your skills in financial record-keeping and accounting practices. This paid apprenticeship offers a hands-on opportunity to learn essential bookkeeping techniques, gain experience with popular accounting software, and understand the fundamentals of managing financial transactions. You will work closely with experienced accounting professionals, contributing to real-world tasks that support business operations and financial accuracy. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to kick-start a career in finance and accounting.

Duties

Assist in recording financial transactions accurately using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Help maintain organized financial records, including receipts, invoices, and bank statements
Collaborate with team members to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies or errors
Learn to generate basic financial reports and summaries to support business decision-making
Participate in daily bookkeeping activities under supervision, gaining practical experience in managing accounts
Contribute to maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Will be expected to attend Bridgend College outside of working hours

Experience

No prior professional experience required; a strong interest in finance or accounting is preferred
Basic understanding of accounting principles is a plus but not mandatory
Familiarity with common accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is advantageous
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential
Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions diligently
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude are highly valued
