The purpose of this role will be to assist with the preparation, implementation and operation of performance related audio and video equipment, alongside communications (including Surtitles) systems, for Opera North productions both in Leeds and on tour. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively as part of the team, making sure that all activities are carried out to the highest standards of safety, efficiency and quality. Essential requirements for the job include a proven track record of sound and AV work, team work and a positive attitude towards health and safety.
- Get-in and preparation of audio and video equipment for rehearsals, performances and multi venue tours of main-house productions, and orchestral film screenings.
- Operate Sound and AV Equipment during performances
- De-rig Sound and AV Equipment
- Get out Sound and AV Equipment
- Maintenance and PAT testing of relevant Electrical Equipment
- Some lighting work maybe required
Experience/ skills required:
-
Proven track record of Sound and AV work for other theatre companies.
- Sound effects preparation and production
- Good knowledge of Digico SD12, ProTools, Catalyst
- Fold back & PA set up
- Experience of communication systems radio & Wired
- RF licensing
- Experience and knowledge of lighting, sound and AV equipment and hardware
- Orchestral micing and instrumentation
- Score reading
- Sur titling systems installation
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and manual handling
- Experience of PAT testing
- Experience of working at height

Contract type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £35,424 per annum
Hours of work: Working hours will be annualised, with a maximum of 2,288 hours per year, based on an average of 44 hours per week.
Holiday entitlement: 33 days inclusive of 8 statutory holidays, per annum
Pension: Opera North will automatically enroll you into the company pension scheme upon appointment and after 3 months’ service will contribute equivalent to 5.5% of your basic pay, should you meet the current legislative criteria. You will be required to make a personal contribution of 2.5% of your basic pay. We reserve the right to make future changes to our pension arrangements.
