Reports To: Head of Fire and Security
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: South Wales with travel

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join our Fire
and Security team. This is a field-based role responsible for the installation,
maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of automatic door systems
across customer sites.

You will play a key role in ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and
in full compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer
requirements. We value technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a strong
commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Install, service, maintain, and repair a range of automatic door systems,

including sliding, swing, revolving, and specialist access doors

Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently, minimising downtime for

customers

Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with manufacturers’

recommendations and BS EN 16005 standards

Perform safety inspections, adjustments, testing, and commissioning of

door systems to ensure full compliance

Provide on-site technical advice and professional support to clients

Accurately complete all job-related documentation, including service

reports and parts usage records

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment on site and

within the company vehicle

Work in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and relevant

legal requirements

Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to source parts

and technical information

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with automatic door systems

Good working knowledge of BS EN 16005 and other relevant safety

standards

Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills

Full UK driving licence

Ability to pass Full Security Vetting (NPPV2 Full)

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Desirable:

ADSA (Automatic Door Suppliers Association) or equivalent accreditation

Experience with aluminium door fabrication and installation

Familiarity with a variety of door control systems and manufacturers

Basic IT skills for electronic job reporting and service management

software
