Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Garden Centre Supervisor to lead our team in creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure the presentation and merchandising of our garden products are inviting and well-maintained. Your leadership will inspire a motivated team, foster excellent customer service, and drive sales growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of a vibrant retail environment dedicated to horticulture and outdoor living.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily garden centre operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service
Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Oversee merchandising efforts to showcase products attractively, maintain stock levels, and implement promotional displays
Provide expert advice to customers on plant selection, care tips, and gardening solutions to enhance their shopping experience
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for staff and customers by enforcing health and safety protocols
Manage administrative tasks such as inventory control, sales reporting, and ordering supplies to ensure operational efficiency
Cultivate strong communication within the team and with customers through active listening, clear instructions, and friendly phone etiquette

Experience

Proven management or supervisory experience in retail or garden centre environments
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example and foster a collaborative atmosphere
Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customer bases
Demonstrated proficiency in merchandising techniques and sales management strategies
Effective organizational skills with keen attention to time management and administrative responsibilities
Prior experience in retail management or horticulture is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for gardening is a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
