Job Summary
Conwy Community Hwb, a registered charity, is seeking a Freelance Grant Funding Consultant / Bid Writer to support our organisation in securing funding and developing compelling bids. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community projects and initiatives through effective grant applications. The successful candidate will work independently, bringing specialised skills in fundraising, bid writing, and relationship management to help maximise our funding potential. The position is paid and suitable for experienced professionals looking for flexible freelance engagement.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify suitable funding opportunities aligned with the organisation’s objectives
- Prepare, write, and submit detailed grant applications and bids in accordance with funder guidelines
- Develop persuasive proposals that clearly articulate project aims, outcomes, and organisational capacity
- Maintain accurate records of applications using CRM software such as Raiser's Edge or similar systems
- Cultivate and manage relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders to enhance future funding prospects
- Monitor and report on the progress of submitted bids, ensuring compliance with funder requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure alignment of project goals with funding criteria
- Keep abreast of changes in funding policies, regulations, and best practices in bid writing and fundraising
Skills
- Proven experience in grant writing, bid development, or fundraising within the charitable sector
- Strong understanding of CRM software tools such as Raiser's Edge or equivalent systems
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Knowledge of marketing principles and relationship management techniques to foster stakeholder engagement
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Experience in public relations and customer service to effectively liaise with funders and community partners
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies and the wider charitable funding landscape in Wales or the UK
