Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Soft Landscaping Foreman to lead our landscaping team in delivering high quality commercial landscaping services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture, construction and landscape management, with excellent leadership skills to oversee daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring the upkeep and enhancement of outdoor spaces while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate landscaping activities, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Lead a team of ground staff, allocating tasks effectively and providing guidance on the use of tools and machinery.
- Oversee the operation of mechanical equipment such as excavators and power tools, ensuring proper usage and safety compliance.
- Conduct routine inspections of work sites to monitor progress, quality, and safety adherence.
- Ensure all landscaping work complies with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and materials in good working order through regular checks and preventative maintenance.
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and deliver customised landscaping solutions.
Skills
- Proven experience in landscaping
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, and construction machinery such as excavators.
- Proficiency in using hand tools for landscaping and construction tasks.
- Solid understanding of construction processes within outdoor environments.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and team members.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to landscaping operations.
