Edwards Diving Services (EDS) is a specialist marine and civil engineering contractor delivering complex engineering solutions across the water, marine, energy, highways and environmental sectors.
Our work is rarely conventional. We operate within challenging and dynamic environments including rivers, reservoirs, coastal and marine settings, delivering reactive and planned engineering works ranging from inspections and emergency response through to marine civils, structural repairs and asset replacement projects.
Due to continued growth and work-winning success, we are seeking to recruit a Marine Project Engineer to support delivery of our civil and marine engineering portfolio.
The Role
Working closely with operational, engineering and site delivery teams, you will provide technical, engineering and coordination support to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and commercial requirements.
This is a varied and hands-on role offering the opportunity to work across a diverse range of marine and civil engineering projects in challenging and rewarding environments.
You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, supporting works from enquiry and planning through to delivery and completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of marine and civil engineering projects from enquiry to completion
- Coordinate information between office, operational and site teams
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders
- Review drawings, specifications and technical information
- Assist in resolving engineering and construction challenges
- Support project planning, programming and resource allocation
- Assist with procurement and coordination of plant, materials and specialist services
- Attend site for surveys, inspections, progress monitoring and technical support
- Support quality assurance, verification and completion documentation
- Maintain project records and technical documentation
- Assist with cost tracking, quotations, estimates and project reporting
- Support preparation of RAMS, CPPs and construction documentation
- Promote and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
- Support reactive and emergency response works where required
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Experience within a civil, marine or construction environment
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Flexible approach and willingness to travel to project sites
Desirable
- Experience working within marine, river, coastal or water environments
- Experience of reactive or maintenance-based works delivery
- Experience supporting or managing CDM projects
- Experience preparing RAMS, CPPs and technical reports
- Membership of ICE or similar professional institution
- Working towards professional accreditation (e.g. ICE)
