About the Role
We are looking for an organised and reliable Prescription Clerk to join our team for 18.5 hours a week. The successful candidate will support the efficient processing of repeat prescriptions, liaise with patients, clinicians, and pharmacies, and help ensure a high standard of administrative support within the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies and procedures.
- Review prescription requests and forward queries to the appropriate clinician.
- Liaise with local pharmacies regarding prescription enquiries.
- Handle patient enquiries by telephone, email, and in person.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update clinical systems as required.
- Monitor prescription workflows to ensure requests are processed within agreed timescales.
- Support the administrative team with general office duties when required.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.
Person SpecificationEssential
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a GP practice, pharmacy, or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of repeat prescription processes.
- Experience using clinical systems such as EMIS, SystmOne, or Vision.
