Due to ongoing company growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Production Operator to join our team at Mallows Bottling. Founded in 2021, Mallows Beverages has fast become a key player in the UK spirits scene, with over 30 product and business awards to its name. We have recently expanded to producing soft drinks, too. Our contract bottling production facility is situated in Coedely, Rhondda Cynon Taf. Here we create our brands as well as contract bottling for customers from across the UK - we are a BRCGS AA site.

THE ROLE:
Within this role you will be responsible for the preparation, bottling, packaging and handling of a range of dry goods, finished goods and bulk liquids, using company approved standard operating procedures, whilst abiding with all relevant company policies for health & safety, hygiene and quality to ensure that these products comply with the agreed specification and are prepared in time to satisfy the production programme.
This job role will be shift pattern led, either working 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm, alternating weekly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE COMPETENCIES:
- Operate production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with product specifications, SOPs and company procedures.
- Ensure the correct labels, packaging materials and consumables are available and used throughout production.
- Feed and monitor production equipment, undertaking line changeovers and adjustments as required.
- Identify and rectify basic equipment faults and escalate issues where necessary.
- Help to ensure machinery is operated at optimum performance levels whilst maintaining product quality standards.
- Minimise material wastage, product loss and downtime through effective operation of equipment and processes.
- Provide input into the completion of production records and associated documentation accurately and within required timescales.
- Help to maintain high standards of GMP, hygiene, housekeeping and health & safety within the production area.
- Help to complete and sign off quality, food safety and production checks in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure product specifications, work instructions and quality standards are followed at all times.
- Escalate any quality, food safety, equipment or safety concerns promptly and take appropriate action where required.
- Assist in the training and development of Production Operators and agency staff, where required.
- Support the Shift Supervisor in the day-to-day running of the production lines and act as deputy, if required.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have previous experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
- Be self-motivated, dedicated, resourceful, adaptable, and flexible.
- Be a team player with good communication.
- Have the ability to freely contribute to continuous improvement and suggestions.
- Be punctual.
- Possess a good level of literacy and numeracy.
- Desire to undertake ongoing training.
- Preferably hold a current FLT license.
- Have the ability to work at heights.
- Have GCSE Level or equivalent education.
