We are seeking an experienced and learner-focused Rural Skills Assessor to assess and support apprentices undertaking the Level 2 General Farm Worker Apprenticeship Standard. This is a maternity cover post (fixed term). This role is central to ensuring apprentices make substantial and sustained progress in developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) required to successfully complete their apprenticeship, achieve well at End-Point Assessment, and progress into sustained employment within the agricultural sector.
The successful candidate will work closely with apprentices, employers and curriculum teams to ensure apprenticeship delivery reflects clearly defined curriculum intent, is consistently and effectively implemented, and results in strong apprentice outcomes and destinations. The role will involve supporting apprentices across a range of farming enterprises and rural workplaces, ensuring that training and assessment activities meet industry requirements and apprenticeship standards.
The position requires the successful applicant to build and maintain strong relationships with employers across the agricultural sector, supporting the entire apprenticeship journey from recruitment and enrolment through to completion. Responsibilities include conducting workplace assessments, carrying out regular progress reviews, monitoring apprentice achievement, completing health and safety documentation, and providing advice and guidance to both apprentices and employers throughout the programme.
