What you will be doing:
As a vital part of our maintenance team, you will keep our campuses safe, functional, and efficient by handling a mixture of reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and minor installation projects.
- HVAC & Plumbing: Maintain, fault-find, and repair complex commercial and domestic heating, ventilation, plumbing, and gas systems.
- Upgrades & Improvements: Support system upgrades, commercial refurbishments, and modern energy-efficiency projects.
- Safety & Compliance: Complete digital compliance records via mobile systems, ensuring all works meet gas, water, and health & safety regulations.
- On-Call Support: Take part in an emergency on-call week rota to support university emergencies and occasional weekend events.
What we are looking for:
- Qualifications: A recognized apprenticeship in Mechanical Services/Plumbing (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent), OR qualified through proven, significant trade experience.
- Gas Safe: Fully Gas Safe registered with a strong up-to-date knowledge of gas legislation.
- Experience: Strong background maintaining plumbing and mechanical systems within complex commercial or occupied domestic buildings.
- Key Attributes: Great communication skills, a "one-team" approach, and comfort working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Licence: A full UK driving licence is required.
- Compliance: A basic DBS check will be required prior to starting.
