The role
Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! It takes a great deal of people from different backgrounds, with diverse skills and experience to serve our force area effectively, think you have what it takes to help us make a difference? This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Business Services Team as an Evidential Property Administrator.
This is a rewarding role where you’ll provide a range of administrative services to support operational work and business planning. You will be responsible for effectively managing the storage, retrieval, and disposal of property. You will also work with internal and external stakeholders to return or dispose of property securely.
What you’ll do
Ensuring property is stored securely and accurately recorded.
Conducting daily checks to facilitate transfer to other stores.
Ensure computerised and paper-based records are up to date.
Supporting internal customers with property enquiries.
Storing high-risk items which may require specialised processing with strict policies and procedures (firearms, fireworks, electricals)
Handling, recording, and arranging appropriate storage and disposal of drugs in compliance with Health & Safety guidelines
Safely use ladders within a store environment to retrieve and store property items at height.
Handle hazardous waste in accordance with relevant safety procedures and guidelines.

What you’ll bring

This is a physical role which also requires working at height, manual handling and dealing with the safe storage and handling of Hazardous Substances.

Terms of appointment
This is a fixed term / secondment opportunity subject to a six-month probationary period.
