Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, is highly desirable. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about driving and logistics to contribute to a dynamic organisation.

Duties

Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods across designated routes
Ensure all cargo is securely loaded and properly balanced before transit
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit
Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed
Report any vehicle defects or accidents promptly to management

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record
Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles
Delivery driver experience is highly advantageous
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods
Ability to operate a flatbed lorry safely and efficiently
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
Strong communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and clients
Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by operational demands
