Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours within a care home setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily living activities while maintaining their independence and dignity.

Duties

Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Respond promptly and appropriately to residents' needs or emergencies, including assisting with mobility or personal care if required.
Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, incidents, and any care provided during the shift.
Assist with medication management in accordance with care plans, under supervision.
Support residents with bedtime routines and ensure their environment is safe and secure.
Liaise effectively with day staff to ensure continuity of care.
Keep accurate documentation of any incidents or concerns during the shift.
Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of communal areas as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents outside the care home if necessary.
Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow prescribed procedures accurately.
Proficiency in basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with residents, colleagues, and families.
Strong organisational skills with an organised approach to work during night shifts.
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals’ wellbeing.
Ability to work independently during night hours while maintaining high standards of care. This position offers an enriching opportunity for those passionate about providing exceptional care in a supportive environment.

At present we are NOT offering Sponsorships.

Night shift hours - 10pm-8am.

Pay: £12.21 per hour
