MOBILE CLEANER/CARETAKER

37.5 hours per week

Salary £26,227. 50 (LWF)

HTS (Property & Environment) Ltd, provides Housing Repairs & Maintenance and Environmental Services for the tenants and residents of Harlow. We pride ourselves on delivering the best customer experience we can in our sector, and we value the vital role our employees play in helping us to make Harlow a place where people want to live and work.

Working in the Cleansing & Caretaking section you will provide a quality mobile cleaning and caretaking service to customers and clients within flat and tower blocks. You will ensure that communal areas i.e. footpaths, forecourts, garage areas, communal rooms etc. are in clean, tidy and safe condition for tenants. It is essential that you have a basic cleaning experience, along with the basic knowledge of health and safety as you will be required to clean methodically and safely, using appropriate equipment and materials. You will report any instances of near misses and accidents, or any problems raised by tenants. Having awareness and understanding of COSHH is also essential. You will carry out minor repairs, therefore a repair and maintenance or caretaking experience will be desirable. You must hold a full valid UK driving licence as you will be required to travel within Harlow as well as undertake out of hours ‘call out duties’ on a rota basis.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

Basic literacy & numeracy skills
Basic cleaning experience
Basic knowledge and understanding of health & safety
Understands the importance of the service quality provided to customers/clients
Have an awareness and understanding of COSHH
Have an awareness and understanding of Equality and Diversity
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Be polite, courteous, tactful conscientious & flexible
Can use own initiative
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to undertake ‘Call Out’ duties
To play a fundamental part in the Mobile Cleaning Teams and to support Caretakers in providing a complete and responsive cleaning service which complies with best value criteria
Hold a current valid driving license
Neat and tidy appearance
Able to work out in all weathers

Desirable

Repair & maintenance experience
Basic familiarity with computer and keyboard
BICS – Basic cleaning Certificate
Trade Certificate
Caretaking experience
