About Us:

We are a busy, well-established independent garage and MOT station based in Waltham Abbey. Our team currently consists of 3 mechanics, 1 MOT tester, and 1 office administrator. We have a strong and consistent workflow, and we are now looking to strengthen our team with a highly skilled Diagnostic Technician. The RoleThis is a specialist role focused on advanced diagnostics—not general servicing or routine mechanical work. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex faults, particularly electrical and software-related issues, and supporting the wider team with problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Diagnose complex faults across a wide range of vehicles
Identify and resolve electrical, electronic, and software-related issues
Use advanced diagnostic tools and systems
Interpret wiring diagrams, fault codes, and live data
Support other technicians with difficult diagnostic cases
Carry out repairs following diagnosis where required
Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency

Requirements

Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician / Master Technician
Strong knowledge of modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems
Experience using advanced or dealer-level diagnostic equipment
Ability to work independently and solve complex faults
Experience across multiple vehicle brands
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred
MOT Tester licence beneficial but not essential
