Experienced Fabricator/Welder – Tollesbury, Essex
£15.00 – £17.50 per hour (depending on experience, with opportunities for progression)
Gamart Engineering Ltd is a long-established steel fabrication company based in Tollesbury, Essex, operating since 1972. We undertake a wide range of work, from bespoke one-off fabrications and sheet metal assemblies to larger batch production, working across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium for a variety of industries.
We carry out a broad range of fabrication processes in-house, including MIG, TIG and stick welding, laser cutting, press brake work (from thin sheet to heavy plate), rolling, machining, sawing and guillotining, along with in-house powder coating and wet spraying. This provides genuinely varied work and the opportunity to develop skills across multiple processes.
You will be working as part of a skilled and experienced workshop team, producing high-quality fabrication work where attention to detail and pride in your work are essential.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team.
This is a hands-on welding and fabrication role. Applicants must be competent in welding and able to work accurately from engineering drawings, build to tight tolerances, and consistently produce high-quality work.
While we cover a wide range of processes, experience in all areas is not expected. A strong foundation in fabrication and welding is essential, and training can be provided to develop additional skills where required.
Most work is workshop-based, with occasional site work across the South East and London (site experience preferred but not essential). We offer consistent, long-term work within a stable and well-established company.
Essential Skills
- Strong fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Able to work accurately to tolerances
Desirable Skills
- Experience using steel fabrication machinery
- TIG welding
- Sheet metal work experience
Hours & Benefits
- Monday to Friday
- 40-hour week with early finish on Friday (2:00pm)
