What’s the role? …

We are seeking an IT Project Officer (2 year fixed term) to support the delivery of essential IT projects that enhance the services we provide to our community. You will play a vital role in the successful implementation of IT projects by providing administrative and logistical support. You will work closely with project managers and teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to project teams, including scheduling meetings, managing documentation, and tracking progress.
Assist with project planning, risk management, and reporting.
Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and manage expectations.
Contribute to the development of project plans and timelines.
Support the implementation of project deliverables.

What we’re looking for

Lead on the implementation of specific projects/ programmes ensuring the required outcomes are met.

To deliver on projects assigned to an agreed direction, timescale and budget.

Take decisions in relation to project options within agreed tolerance levels.

Undertake commissioning, procurement and management of external support as required for the delivery of project/programmes in line with the Council procedures.

To work closely with staff within the division and wider Directorate/Council to ensure the optimum delivery team and corporate delivery priorities are met.

To work closely with all stakeholders in order to ensure that their requirements are considered and met.

To develop and implement appropriate project controls and systems to ensure effective management of risk and financial probity.

Effective written and oral communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and understand the needs of the client or customer and be able to deliver appropriate and innovative solutions.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Special conditions

Recognised project management qualification or relevant experience.

Salary

£49,155 - £51,228 per annum (P03)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
