Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flat Pack Furniture Assembler (Junior / Assistant) to work on a self-employed basis. This role involves assembling a variety of flat pack furniture items efficiently and accurately, ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, good manual dexterity, and experience with various tools and basic construction techniques. This position offers flexible working arrangements suited for individuals looking to develop their skills in furniture assembly and related trades.
Duties
- Assemble flat pack furniture items according to manufacturer instructions and specifications
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and wrenches to complete assembly tasks
- Operate power tools safely and effectively during the assembly process
- Ensure all assembled furniture meets quality standards and safety regulations
- Organise work areas to maintain efficiency and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with clients or project managers regarding assembly progress or issues
- Assist with additional tasks related to carpentry, joinery, or minor construction projects as required
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace after each job
Qualifications
- Proven experience in furniture assembly or related trades such as carpentry, joinery, or construction
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of carpentry, joinery, roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work on-site for extended periods
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Previous experience in self-employment or freelance roles is preferred but not mandatory

Pay: £24,420.00-£41,196.05 per year
