Full job description

Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship – 24 Months

An opportunity has become available to undertake a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will be placed in a community pharmacy close to their home. They will spend four days per week working in the pharmacy and one day attending college

Main duties will include:

Receiving and handling prescriptions
Dispensing and issuing medicines to patients
Advising patients about their medicines
Explaining how medicines should be used and discussing possible side effects
Selling over-the-counter medicines and products
Ordering, receiving, storing and issuing pharmaceutical stock
Supporting the safe and effective operation of the pharmacy
Developing accuracy-checking skills, including completing final checks once appropriately trained and authorised

Entry requirements:

GCSE Mathematics and English Language at grades 9–4 or A*–C, or equivalent qualifications
A genuine interest in progressing towards registration as a Pharmacy Technician
Good communication, organisational and customer-service skills
A willingness to learn while working in a professional healthcare environment
Commitment to completing the full 24-month apprenticeship programme
