About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholsterer to join our team. The successful candidate will take pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining exceptional craftsmanship standards across all upholstery projects. Key Responsibilities
- Upholster a wide range of furniture, including sofas, chairs, headboards, and bespoke pieces.
- Interpret work orders, specifications, and design requirements accurately.
- Measure, cut, and fit fabrics, leather, foam, and other upholstery materials.
- Carry out furniture repairs, reupholstery, and refurbishment work to a high standard.
- Ensure all finished products meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Operate upholstery tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Inspect materials and completed work for defects and quality issues.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Contribute ideas for improving processes, quality, and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Upholsterer or in a similar upholstery role.
- Strong knowledge of upholstery techniques, materials, and furniture construction.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing work of the highest standard.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of upholstery hand tools and machinery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
Desirable
- Experience working with bespoke or luxury furniture.
- Experience with furniture restoration and repairs.
- Knowledge of modern and traditional upholstery methods.
