Full job description

Job Description:

Join a family-run precision engineering company with a focus on low-volume / high variety machined parts, with openings for those with expertise working with lathes and / or mills.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled CNC setter/operator to expand our manufacturing team, working with Lathe and / or Mill machining.

Setting up and operating CNC machines
Maintaining CNC machines
Producing precision components to tight tolerances – low volume / high variety
Inspecting parts using standard inspection tools
Edit and set programs

Experience

Tarvin Precision is AS9100 certified, so the successful candidates will be detail-oriented, used to working with tight tolerances, and be adaptable to working with new systems.

Experience required depends on whether you apply for a Lathe or Milling position (or both!)

Lathes

Experience with lathes essential, and CNC machining in general
FANUC control – Lathes (Essential)

Milling

Experience with mills essential, and CNC machining in general
Heidenhain and / or Siemens control desirable
Please note any other control experience in your application
Experience of HAAS control also considered

All applicants should have:

Ability to read engineering drawings
General workshop familiarity
Please note any procedural experience (Lean, AS9100, etc) that may be relevant
Understanding of working with safety procedures in a manufacturing environment

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary (6 months, with possibility for extension or permanent position at end if required) – 37.5 hour per week
