As part of our continued growth strategy, we are seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead the business through its next phase of expansion and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Board, the Managing Director will provide strategic leadership and overall responsibility for the company's performance, growth, and operational delivery. The successful candidate will lead all business functions, ensuring sustainable profitability, client satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement.
This is a high-profile leadership role requiring a commercially astute and inspirational individual with a proven track record within the housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit, or wider construction sector.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the company's strategic business plan and growth objectives.
- Drive profitable growth through new business opportunities, framework agreements, and client relationships.
- Ensure the successful delivery of refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit, and groundworks projects.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, quality standards, and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with housing associations, local authorities, private clients, and supply chain partners.
- Monitor financial performance, cash flow, margins, and operational efficiency.
- Champion customer satisfaction and social value initiatives.
- Identify and manage business risks while promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
- Represent the business at industry events, client meetings, and stakeholder forums.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Significant senior leadership experience within housing refurbishment, planned maintenance, social housing, retrofit, or construction sectors.
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Demonstrable success in delivering growth and profitability targets.
- Extensive experience managing refurbishment and maintenance contracts.
- Strong understanding of social housing procurement frameworks and client requirements including the use of M3NHF Schedule of Rates
- Sound knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated compliance requirements.
- Ability to prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams and drive organisational change.
Desirable
- · Degree-qualified in Construction, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- · Professional membership with relevant industry bodies.
- · Previous experience as Managing Director, Operations Director, Regional Director, or equivalent executive-level position.
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
