Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEND One-to-One Practitioner specialising in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to support a child with special educational needs. The set days are Mon/Wed/Thur (8 hours per day). The successful candidate will provide tailored support to facilitate their development and learning within a nurturing environment, working alongside professionals and following strategies set by professionals. Applicants should be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering inclusive learning experiences.
Duties
- Provide personalised support to a child with special educational needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met effectively.
- Assist with daily activities, including toddler care, to promote independence and confidence.
- Implement tailored strategies to support the child, encouraging social interaction and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and specialists to develop and review individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Support children during classroom activities, playtime, and transitions to ensure a safe and engaging environment.
- Observe and record child's progress, behaviours, and responses to interventions for ongoing assessment.
- Foster positive behaviour management strategies that promote inclusion and respect among peers.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and needs.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in early years settings, particularly those with special educational needs.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with children, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate, patient, organised, and adaptable in supporting children's diverse needs.
- Knowledge of toddler care routines and behaviour management techniques suitable for young children.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team dedicated to inclusive education.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
