Job Introduction

We are looking for a friendly, organised and efficient Administrative Assistant/Press Officer to join our welcoming admin team at Winnall Primary School. Winnall Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive school community in Winchester, with enthusiastic children and a dedicated, supportive staff team. Winnall Primary is a rewarding and enjoyable place to work. As the first point of contact for many parents/carers, visitors and children, you will play a key role in creating a positive and professional front-of-house experience, while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.

The hours are Monday 8.30am - 1.30pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm.

Your key areas of responsibility will:

Managing school administration processes
Updating the website and calendar.
Assisting with communications to families including emails and newsletters
Acting as the main point of contact for media enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with local and regional media
Promoting the organisation’s achievements, events and key messages through the media
Working closely with colleagues to identify newsworthy stories and opportunities
Ensuring all communications reflect the organisation’s values and ethos
Initiating and maintaining a social media presence

The successful candidate will:

Be highly organised with strong attention to detail,
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be confident using IT systems including Microsoft Office
Have the skills to demonstrate initiative, resilience and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting safeguarding procedures.
