We are a leamington based board & brick lounge that offers a welcoming and vibrant experience to people from all walks of life to relax, play some board games, build bricks and enjoy good food and drink.

Job description

We are looking for a bright, confident and approachable individual with the ability to adapt to different situations. The right candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, lead and integrate themselves into the existing team and have previous hospitality and/or retail experience dealing with customers on a face to face basis.

At The Dice Box we work hard to create a fun and friendly environment where everybody feels welcome. It's really important that candidates have a passion for people, good coffee, good food and board games to enable them to continue offering our high standard of service.

Our company ethos is all about breaking down the barriers to entry for the board game hobby and we are here to prove that board games are for everyone and not just for geeks anymore!

What the job role entails:

Managing and supporting a team on shift
Keeping Track and ordering of stock.
Teaching a wide array of board games from our 600+ game library
A passion to learn new board games to teach and play
Preparing food and drink in our kitchen
Working to our high standards of food hygiene
Offering amazing customer service
Meeting and greeting customers
Taking food orders
Overseeing staff
Overseeing the sale of alcohol
Maintaining a high level of cleanliness
Have a good knowledge of modern hobby board games or be willing to learn
Key holder responsibility
End of day banking

The Candidate will also be able to take advantage of staff discounts, free use of the Libraries, company pension + other benefits. There is also the opportunity for a vast amount of progression within the company.

As a large part of the job involves knowing and teaching board games please could you advise of your knowledge and experience of the board gaming industry
If you have no knowledge of the board game industry are you willing to learn? On and off the job?
A large part of this supervisory role involves making food and drink in our kitchen, the kitchen is small and the work is fast paced. Have you kitchen or hospitality experience?
