2. Job Summary
To provide high-quality Occupational Health Physiotherapy, Ergonomic
Assessment, Workplace Wellbeing and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
services to clients across the North East.
The postholder will manage a varied clinical caseload across Occupational
Health and Private Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Services, working within
clinics and workplaces.
The role requires a flexible, patient-centred clinician who is able to work
autonomously while contributing to service development, clinical quality, and
the continued growth and success of Physiotherapy Matters Ltd.
Clinical Duties (Approximately 90%)
1. Clinical & Professional Practice
- Assess, diagnose and manage a diverse musculoskeletal caseload using evidence-based practice.
- Deliver Occupational Health Physiotherapy assessments in accordance with CSP, HCPC and ACPOHE standards.
- Undertake fitness for work assessments and provide recommendations regarding workplace adjustments and rehabilitation.
- Conduct workplace assessments, ergonomic assessments and workstation reviews.
- Design and implement individualised treatment programmes aimed at achieving optimal clinical outcomes and return to function.
- Deliver physiotherapy treatment through both face-to-face and remote consultations.
- Use validated outcome measures to evaluate treatment effectiveness and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate, timely and legally compliant patient records.
- Refer patients to appropriate healthcare professionals where required.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner and maintain professional accountability for all clinical decisions and actions.
- Support the delivery of group exercise sessions, wellbeing programmes and educational workshops where appropriate.
- Participate in clinical audit, service evaluation and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Keep up to date with current evidence, clinical guidelines and best practice.
- Work towards ACPOHE accreditation where relevant.
2. Occupational Health Services
- Deliver Occupational Health Physiotherapy services at client sites across the North East.
- Provide early intervention physiotherapy support for employees experiencing musculoskeletal conditions.
- Produce professional reports for managers, Human Resources teams and Occupational Health providers.
- Deliver workplace health promotion initiatives and wellbeing programmes.
- Support employees and employers in facilitating sustainable return-to work plans.
- Liaise with managers, HR teams and other healthcare professionals to support employee wellbeing.
3. Communication
- Communicate effectively with patients, clients, employers, managers and healthcare professionals.
- Produce clear, concise and professional written reports.
- Explain complex clinical information in a manner that is easily understood by patients and stakeholders.
- Develop effective working relationships with client organisations and external partners.
- Participate in multidisciplinary working where appropriate.
4. Clinical Audit & Quality Improvement
- Participate in clinical audit and clinical governance activities.
- Collect and analyse service data and outcome measures.
- Identify opportunities to improve patient experience, clinical outcomes and service delivery.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives across the organisation.
- Contribute to quarterly MI reporting in collaboration with the Business Manager from a clinical prospective.
5. Business Development & Service Improvement (Approximately 10%)
Service Development
- Support the development of new Occupational Health, Ergonomic and Physiotherapy services.
- Provide support to successfully embed new contracts to ensure service stability and continuity.
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and Business Manager to improve service delivery.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives to support business growth.
- Identify opportunities to promote existing services and develop new areas of work.
Promotional & Educational
- Deliver presentations, workshops and training sessions to employers, managers, HR teams and other stakeholders.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Physiotherapy Matters Ltd.
- Promote the benefits of Occupational Health Physiotherapy and workplace wellbeing services Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Actively manage clinical risk within own caseload.
- Report incidents, accidents and risks in accordance with company procedures.
- Promote safe working practices at all times.
Confidentiality
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with GDPR, CSP, HCPC and organisational standards.
- Ensure all information relating to patients, clients and staff is handled appropriately and securely.
Other Duties

Band 6: £35,000-£41,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
Band 7: £41,000-£47,000 FTE (dependent on experience)

24-38 hours per week (full or part-time considered)
