Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Bricklayer/Builder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using various masonry techniques. Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones to construct walls, facades, and other structures according to specifications and blueprints
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and setting out work areas
- Mix mortar and other materials using hand tools or power tools to ensure proper consistency
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to execute precise work
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to formwork or structural framing as required
- Perform roofing tasks when necessary, including installing tiles or shingles
- Carry out welding tasks for structural repairs or modifications when needed
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work site at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential; familiarity with building construction is highly desirable
- Competence in the use of hand tools and power tools used in masonry and construction projects
- Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, and welding techniques is advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided for specific skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Prior experience working on diverse construction sites will be considered an asset
