Job Introduction

Where: West Meon CE Primary School
When: 3hrs per week – hours to suit – Term time only
Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: £14.40 per hour

We are seeking a reliable, practical, and proactive Caretaker to join our warm and welcoming village school community.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

General upkeep and maintenance of school buildings and grounds
Carrying out basic DIY tasks (e.g., minor repairs, fixing fixtures, painting)
Keeping outdoor areas tidy, including litter picking and light gardening
Maintaining pathways, play areas, and ensuring overall site safety
Supporting health and safety checks

What We’re Looking For:

Practical skills and confidence with basic maintenance and DIY tasks
Ability to work independently and use initiative
A proactive and reliable approach
Enjoyment of outdoor work and maintaining tidy grounds
Friendly and approachable manner, with a commitment to working in a school environment
