Platform Wines is an independent wine and drinks merchant located in Berkhamsted Train Station. Since opening in 2019, we have built a reputation for offering an exciting and carefully curated range of fine wines, Champagne, craft beers, ready-to-drink cocktails, and unique spirits from around the world.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in premium drinks, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key member of our team, you'll help create a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening and closing the store
- Delivering excellent customer service and assisting customers with their purchases
- Building product knowledge and making tailored recommendations
- Operating the till and card payment systems
- Maintaining high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
- Replenishing stock and merchandising displays
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory management
- Answering customer enquiries confidently and professionally
- Following company procedures, health and safety guidelines, and customer service standards
- Supporting colleagues and working independently when required
- Assisting with deliveries and occasional lifting of stock
- Representing Platform Wines with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude

- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Willingness to learn about wine, beer, spirits, and premium drinks
- Retail or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential
