Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and early years to contribute positively to children's growth and learning.

Duties

Assist in supervising and engaging children during daily activities, playtime, and mealtimes
Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational programmes
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations
Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment for children
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
Support children's emotional development by providing comfort and reassurance when needed
Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and updating children's progress records
Drive children to and from activities or outings when required, ensuring safe transportation

Experience

Previous experience working with children in a nursery, childcare setting or early childhood education environment is highly desirable
Demonstrated management or leadership skills within a childcare context are advantageous
Knowledge of childcare best practices, child development stages, and early years curriculum frameworks
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Experience in childcare management or leadership roles is beneficial but not essential for entry-level applicants
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation duties

This role requires a caring attitude, organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The position provides valuable experience in early childhood education with opportunities for professional growth within a supportive environment.

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
