The Opportunity
An established provider is launching a flagship, purpose-built Low Secure Children’s Residential Home in Market Weighton.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced children’s residential leader to take the lead on a high-specification service from the ground up. The home will include 12 ensuite bedrooms, professionally landscaped gardens, and is currently undergoing a premium refurbishment, with completion expected within the next 3–4 months.
We are looking to appoint a high-calibre Registered Manager and/or Responsible Individual to lead the launch, registration, operational development, and long-term success of the service.
This role would suit an experienced senior leader with a strong background in Ofsted-regulated children’s services, low secure provision, complex needs, and service development.
Key Responsibilities
As Registered Manager / Responsible Individual, you will be responsible for leading the successful setup, registration, and ongoing operation of the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the initial setup of the service, including policies, procedures, systems, and operational frameworks
- Ensuring the home is fully compliant with Ofsted requirements, legislation, safeguarding standards, and best practice
- Supporting the successful registration of the service with Ofsted
- Recruiting, training, developing, and leading a high-quality multi-disciplinary team
- Creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for children and young people
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and outcomes
- Driving a culture focused on quality, safeguarding, positive relationships, and continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships with Local Authorities, Children’s Services, commissioners, and external professionals
- Supporting placement growth and developing long-term partnerships with key stakeholders
- Managing budgets, occupancy, staffing, and overall commercial performance
- Working towards achieving and maintaining strong Ofsted outcomes, with a clear focus on “Good” or “Outstanding” ratings
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a confident and experienced leader who can bring both operational expertise and strategic oversight to a new, high-quality children’s residential provision.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience within children’s residential care
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, compliance, safeguarding, and quality standards
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Responsible Individual, Operations Manager, or senior leader within children’s services
- Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs, challenging behaviour, or within low secure / specialist residential environments
- A proven track record of achieving positive Ofsted outcomes
- Experience developing policies, procedures, and operational systems
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Existing relationships with Local Authorities, Children’s Services, or commissioners would be highly advantageous
- Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, staffing costs, occupancy, and service growth

Pay: £70,000.00-£140,000.00 per year
