Impact Construction is a specialist refurbishment, conversion and fit-out contractor working across London and the South East. We are looking for a skilled and reliable painter and decorator to join our trusted team of subcontractors on a regular basis. The work is varied — residential, commercial and fit-out projects — and we pride ourselves on a high standard of finish and a tidy, professional presence on every site.
The Role
- Thorough preparation work — filling, sanding, caulking, stopping, making good and ensuring surfaces are sound before any paint is applied.
- Internal painting and decorating to a high standard across walls, ceilings, woodwork and trim.
- External painting and decorating, including weather-resistant systems and working safely at height.
- Hanging wallpaper and specialist wall coverings, including pattern-matching and lining.
- Working cleanly and protecting clients’ property, fixtures and finishes throughout.
- Working to programme and liaising professionally with site staff, other trades and, where required, clients.
Essential Requirements
- Proven, all-round experience as a painter and decorator — prep, internal and external painting, and wallpapering.
- Polite, tidy and takes genuine pride in the quality of their work.
- Own reliable transport for travel to sites across London and the South East.
- Own tools and basic equipment.
- Right to work in the UK and registered for CIS (or willing to register).
- Punctual, dependable and able to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Valid CSCS card.
- Experience with spray application and/or specialist finishes.
- Asbestos awareness and basic working-at-height training.
- Contactable references from recent work.
