Full job description

Job Summary: The Export/Import Freight Operator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the logistics and documentation for the export and import of goods. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and a thorough understanding of international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage the end-to-end process of export and import shipments via all modes of transport.
Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
Liaise with clients, carriers, and customs officials to facilitate smooth shipment processes.
Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that arise.
Maintain accurate records of shipments and related documentation.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and providing updates on shipment status.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimise logistics processes and improve efficiency.
Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in export/import operations or freight forwarding.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
