Typical role
You’ll usually teach elementary-aged students in private after-school programs (“cram schools”).
Classes are energetic, interactive, and focused on spoken English. Schools provide training, materials, and lesson structure.
A typical schedule may include:
- Weekday afternoon/evening classes
- Around 20–30 teaching hours per week
- Small group classes
- Long weekends and travel opportunities
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a passport from the UK, USA, Aus, NZ, or Ireland
- Have a bachelor’s degree in any subject
- Be enthusiastic, reliable, and open to living abroad
These requirements are set by the government, there in no flexibility.
No teaching experience required.
