Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aides to provide exceptional support and assistance to clients in their own homes. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality care, promoting independence, and enhancing the well-being of our clients. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary requirements
- Administer medication following prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Help with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support clients with activities of daily living, including toileting and mobility assistance
- Follow care plans meticulously, ensuring all client needs are met effectively
- Manage behaviour management strategies for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's care needs
- Document all care provided accurately and report any changes in health or behaviour to supervising staff
- Drive clients to appointments or errands as required, ensuring safe transportation
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care environments is desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and case management practices but not always necessary
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, and senior care techniques
- First aid certification is highly advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Experience in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs
- Ability to develop and follow personalised care plans effectively
- Competence in behaviour management strategies for clients with cognitive impairment
Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
