What does the Automoney Debt Collection Agent job look like?
Automoney is one of the UK’s leading specialist HP providers based in Redditch, West Midlands. Our goal is to become the market leader in the UK by 2028.
You will work in a dedicated team responsible for the management of motor finance customers, primarily assisting those who have fallen into arrears but also providing a support service for general customer enquiries.
Our service is delivered entirely via telephone and online so to be successful you need strong skills in both oral and written communication, with customer interaction via telephone, SMS, letter and email, along with the desire to be a proactive team player.

You will join our highly successful customer support team which has considerable experience and is highly respected in the industry.
What are the main responsibilities?
As a Debt Collection Agent, you will have a varied role, where your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting customers from the onset of payment difficulties until rehabilitation;
2. Proactively contacting customers to discuss current arrears and establish dialogue;
3. Responding positively, empathetically and promptly to varied forms of customer contact;
4. Providing solutions by negotiating tailored treatments for each and every customer;
5. Completing income & expenditure assessments to demonstrate affordability of arrangements;
6. Using skills and knowledge to ask open questions and, if necessary, challenge information gained;
7. Acting with sensitivity and recognition of customers in potentially vulnerable positions;
8. Escalating cases to default and subsequently, if applicable, obtaining recovery of the vehicle;
9. Liaising with third parties throughout the arrears management process;
10. Acting as first point of contact for customer complaints and recording the details accurately;
11. Undertaking security checks and vehicle checks using various in-house and external search tools;
12. Maintaining consistency and adherence to strict Company policies and all regulatory guidelines.
